This project started with a wonderful contemporary home with a terrible kitchen. The layout was completely impractical and the cabinetry dark and uninteresting. -
This black walnut and glass island really anchors this space being both significant and light simultaneously. -
On the working side of the island is a nice combination of Anigre and Walnut with Stainless steel appliances and accents. The raised section in the end houses the microwave oven. -
The refrigerator is flanked by a wall oven featuring pocket doors above. -
Tip up doors with matched grain make a stylish and practical storage solution on either side of the cook top. -
