Hydrangea Shoji
Shoji is a traditional Japanese architectural element originally featuring thin bamboo framework with rice paper inserts. These screens are still used as room dividers in traditional Japanese buildings. This modern interpretation of the Shoji form features a more sculptural framework in Black Walnut with 3Form Varia Ecoresin panels impregnated with Red Hydrangea and Thatch Grass. The gentle curves of each panel are difficult to see in these photos, but the panels net into eacth other when the screen is folded to make a curved form.
Shoji screens are available in 7 woods and many panel insert patterns and materials. Please inquire.
