3Form

Our work in 3Form material had found homes in both our commercial and residential projects. Our bigger 3Form projects continue to be commercial in nature so here we go. Color, form texture and light - 3form materials provide these essential qualities to any architectural installation. We were first attracted to 3Form because of the seemingly endless design possibilities that it offered. As we learned more about the products, we realized that our commitment to utilizing green technologies was mirrored in the mission of 3Form. In simple terms, 3Form makes the following promises: Sustainability is at the core of the 3form corporate culture. We believe how business is conducted is as important as what is produced. Portfolio

This project was a great illustration of good things coming in small packages. By highlighting just a few small pieces of dramatic green 3form Varia Ecoresin in these upper cabinet doors we provided a wonderful counterpoint to the organic feel of the natural Cherry.
One of the key features of almost all of the 3form projects is the relationship between 3form and Light. In this project, the architect (QPK Design, Syracuse, NY) combined a translucent Chroma material for the letters and a more opaque Varia for the background. When backlit, the effect is dramatic. CabFab utilized our CNC technology to precisely cut both the letters and the background for a seamless press-fit.
The casino business is not typically known for subtlety and this project certainly illustrated this reality. This 3form Ruby Red Chroma light fixture was one of a dozen. The traslucent disc in the center of this light is much bigger than it appears. The diameter of the circle is almost 4 feet.
This 3Form Varia is called Ting Ting…not only a beautiful accent to these cabinet doors but really fun to say! A properly selected 3Form door panel can completely transform a cabinetry installation as it did in this room.
This freestanding piece features black walnut bent-wood laminate frames and thermoformed 3Form Hydrangea Thatch Varia 3Form. The radii are nesting and the entire piece will fold into itself for transport and storage. This is a limited production piece and has been fabricated with a number of different 3Form insets.
As Upstate New York’s only factory trained and 3Form certified partner, we have several displays in our showroom featuring 3Form. This display features not only 3 Form Ecoresins but several other ‘green’ building solutions including recycled slate roofing shingles repurposed into backsplash, FSC and regionally harvested lumber, and LED lighting (please note the edge lighting detail in the 3Form Chroma countertops).
This whimsical blend of old and new started with a vintage 1950’s stainless steel sink picked up at a yard sale. From there flitch matched Cherry, Formica solid surface and some very funky 3Form Varia came together to create the finished piece. The 3form is thermo-formed to create a dramatic texture on the front and then a ‘dog bone’ patterned film was applied to the back to finish the effect.
This is a very common and effective application for 3Form from our shop. By replacing plain glass with 3From simple cabinet doors can really pop!
One in a series of handmade 3Form business card holders that we were commissioned to design and build for the annual AIA dinner for architects in the Central New York Region.
